Ziarat

Ziarat

Located in the province of Balochistan, Pakistan is Ziarat. It is the capital city of the mountains area of Ziarat District located 2542 meters above sea level. Ziarat means Islamic shrine and this particular city has a great deal of history and importance behind it.
It was once a popular summer resort for travelers and was the summer home of the Chief Commissioner of Balochistan. It is also famous for its Juniper forests, the largest juniper forests are in Ziarat in Pakistan.
Not only is Ziarat famous for its forest and stark beauty but for its importance in the history of Pakistan. The founder of Pakistan the Great Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah spent his last days in Ziarat in his residence there.  The building that was the last place of Jinnah was built in 1892 during the British Raj, constructed of wood it was originally designed as a sanatorium for European troops but was then converted into a summer residence. It is now a national monument that draws numerous tourists to Ziarat.
Unfortunately the landmark has suffered over the years. It was first damaged during the 2008 earthquake on October 8th and then later in 2013. On June 15 the building was badly damaged by rockets fired on it by the Balochistan Liberation Army.

Nathia gali

Nathia gali

A picturesque mountain area that is located in Hazara, in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

in Pakistan.

This area is a popular tourist area that draws thousands of people, local and from abroad to see

the immense beauty of the hills. The various hill stations are closely situated to one another

making travelling easy.

Nathiagali is part of the Galyat range it connects Murree and Abbottabad. The drive between the

two areas is approximately 34 km, one hour of driving; the road is winding and takes you

through the mountains where you are able to enjoy the pleasant weather, with numerous hiking

trails and picnicking areas, to help enjoy the beauty and weather of the area. Nathiagali is far

cooler than the rest of the Galyat range at it is situated at a higher altitude of 2,500 ft. above sea

level.

Nathiagali is famous for it’s beautify lush green valleys, that are home to hundreds year old oak,

cedar and pine forests. Along the road of Nathiagali you will find panoramic views of the

beautiful Kashmir Mountains and for those that are lucky and know where to look on a clear

day, you can even see the majestic beauty of Nanga Parbat from a distance.

This beautiful picturesque valley is located in the upper regions of Swat River, in the Swat

district, located in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The valley is has lush green hills covered in beautiful trees. The beauty is only enhanced by the

wonderful waterfalls and rivers running through the Kalam valley.

The Kalam valley is approximately 270 km from the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. It is 2,000

meters above sea level. The Kalam Valley is a valley of plateaus that are fertile and full of

animal life.

The rivers Ushu and Utrot combine together to form the powerful Swat river, with mountains

circling the valley the beauty of Kalam valley is immense and beyond words.

The summer season brings with it the colorful beauty of followers and dark greener of the trees,

while the winter season covers the valley in a pure white carpet of snow, which is beautiful on its

own.

One of the well-known lakes in the Kalam valley is Mahodand Lake, immense and beautiful,

sitting next to the mountains.

The valley is a very popular spot for tourists who wish to see the beginning of heaven on earth,

Babusar Pass

Babusar Pass

Babusar Pass which is also known as Babusar Top is a located near the Karakoram Highway. It

is a mountain pass that connects the Kaghan valley with Chilas. This amazing mountain pass

enables cars to easily access the Kaghan Valley.

The mountain pass is at an elevation of 4173 meters or 13,691 feet. The road from Naran to the

Babusar Pass is open from July to about mid-September when the monsoon season begins.

During this season movement across the pass is restricted until the following spring.

The Babusar Pass is 80 km from Naran. The beauty of the pass is beyond words. To right of the

pass one can see the beautiful snow covered peaks of Kashmir, to the north one can see the

magnificent Nanga Parbat.

The road itself is nothing but rock and dirt that treacherous and must be driven with caution.

Only four wheel drive vehicles can cross Babusar pass. The sides of the road are covered

slopes of grass. With beautiful flowers blooming during the summer season. With no trees it is

essential that travelers pack food.

Siri Paye

Siri and Paye is a breath taking scenic location above Shorgran, it is not as popular as Shogran

but is worth the trip. Paya is a plateau above Shogran at 11,200 ft., which is home to a beautiful

lake that reflects the trees around it. Siri is another plateau where tourist accommodations are

available to enjoy the beauty that the area has to offer.

The trip to Siri and Paye is breathing taking alone, the twists and turns in the road offer beautiful

views of the tops of tress as though they were the valley. It is on these plateaus were the sky

meets the earth, with the vivid blue sky blending in with the lush green forests.

These meadows are a popular place for the locals as it is where their livestock grazes. The

locals themselves are warm and welcoming offering to show the unique beauty of their home to

travelers.

Shogran Valley

Shogran Valley


A valley of immense beauty and tranquility, it is almost like stepping into a different world. The valley is situated at 7500 ft. it is 34km from Balakot and is on the way to Naran. It is a must see place, with its beauty.
The plateau of the valley allows you to see many magnificent views of some the most beautiful snow-capped peaks. From this point you can see the beauty of Musa ka Musalla, Makra and Malika Parbat.  The valley itself is surrounded by thick pine forests with rolling valleys of lush green.
The ideal time to visit this beautiful valley is from the month of June to August, during the time when the weather is pleasant and enjoyable.
Shogran has become a very popular tourist place and has living accommodations known as ‘guest rooms’ that can be rented.

Fairy Meadows was named by German climbers for its fairy tale like look. It is also known as

Joot. Fairy Meadows is located at the base of Nanga Parbat at 10,800 ft. The meadows are a

starting point for trekkers who wish to tackle the climb of Nanga Parbat from the Rakhiot side. ,

To reach the Fairy Meadows one first has to travel to by the Karakoram Highway to the Raikhot

Bridge from which point you would travel to the small village of Tato from where you would trek

5km.

The Fairy Meadows are located in the Raikhot valley with the Raikhot glacier on one side that

faces Nanga Parbat. The meadows are thriving with alpine forest and coniferous forests, which

are hundreds of years old. The beauty is breath taking, with a stream that feeds into the Indus

the meadows have become a popular place to camp during the six month tourist season which

runs from April to the end of September.

It is in these Fairy meadows that you will find the endangered Brown Bear and musk deer. With

lush green valley floor and mountains surrounding it Fairy Meadows is a camper’s heaven on

earth. The beauty of the trees and against the backdrop of the mountains is beyond compare.

With a lake so pure that it reflects the beauty that the heavens have to offer.
